Introduction to Green Building Design 

 

In recent years, with rising environmental awareness, self‑developed projects and urban renewal cases have incorporated nine green building indicators (green coverage, site water retention, water resources, daily energy savings, CO2 reduction, waste reduction, wastewater/garbage improvement, biodiversity, and indoor environment) as design estimation items. Through the evaluation of these nine indicators, the buildings are adapted to local climatic conditions to achieve energy efficiency and reduced environmental pollution for carbon reduction. In addition to utilizing native and multi-layered plant landscaping designs, when selecting construction materials and equipment, BES not only choose green building materials that meet standards but also adopt lightweight designs to reduce waste after the building's life cycle. The thermal insulation properties of materials are also considered, and rainwater harvesting facilities are installed to increase water resource recycling.
