- BES was named Heavy Equipment Division then and a combined unit of the Resource Provision Office's Heavy Machinery Plant, the Kaohsiung Office, the Car Service Unit and the Nanzi Repair Plant (the Resource Provision Office of the Executive Yuan has long been abolished); it was focused at operation of heavy machinery repair and vehicle transportation at that time.
- Reorganized into the Resources Committee Mechanical Engineering Department and changed operation focus from heavy machinery repair and vehicle transportation to the construction business of civil engineering and building engineering with heavy machinery equipment which, at that time, is something very new.
- Renamed to Bureau of Engineering Services (BES) and re-organized into a unit of MOEA.
- Undertake the beam construction operation of the Xiluo Bridge.
- Undertake piling project of Factory 6, Taifer Company.
- Reorganized into "BES Engineering Corporation" (the short name BES remain intact as of today) as a unit of MOEA for easier overseas sales.
