Project Background

The renewal area is located on Section 2 of Zhongshan Road in Shulin District. It used to be an old building owned by the Shulin Fire Brigade, with an age of approximately 30 to 40 years. After the Shulin Fire Brigade relocated, it is now the Dongsheng Library and Civic Activity Center. The public building has been assessed as a high chloride ion reinforced concrete structure, with seismic resistance that does not meet the requirements of current seismic standards for general buildings. There is a risk of compromising public safety. In order to quickly transform the Shulin area and reshape the functional use of the building, the New Taipei City Government conducted a public selection process in accordance with Article 12, Paragraph 1 of the Urban Renewal Act. In October 2021, Chunghwa Engineering was confirmed as the selected applicant for this project. It will integrate the adjacent city-owned real estate to jointly create a beautiful living environment.
