Project Introduction

BES-Chang Cui is located in Songshan District, Taipei City. It was originally a national housing project built by the Taipei City Government in 1989. The building was identified as a high-chloride ion concrete structure and required repair and corrosion prevention treatment according to the Taipei City Government Public Works Bureau. Therefore, a redevelopment project was implemented to demolish the existing national housing and rebuild a high-strength residential building with improved fire protection facilities to enhance public safety and ensure the safety of residents' lives and property.
The demolition of the existing building and the reconstruction aimed to prevent living disasters and adapt to the development of modern society, reshaping the land's proper use efficiency and improving the external environment and living quality of the residential area.
The project obtained 100% approval from all residents and received the National Excellent Construction Award-Quality Award for Best Urban Renewal in 2014.

Project Description and Features

BES-Chang Cui features a design with clean lines and soft color tones, blending with the urban environment to continue the visual landscape of the surrounding buildings. The concept of green architecture is incorporated into the planning phase to enhance spatial transparency, create a cityscape image, and promote energy-saving, resource-saving, and low-pollution green buildings, aiming to create a comfortable, healthy, and environmentally friendly living environment.
In addition, the redevelopment project included the creation of a 3.15-meter setback uncovered pedestrian walkway on the north side of the redevelopment unit, a smooth connection with the road, and no protrusions as emergency evacuation spaces. Furthermore, additional underground parking spaces were added to alleviate the parking space shortage in the area.
