1950
The government establishes the Department of Machinery Maintenance and Operations under the Executive Yuans National Resources Commission
1952
The Department is renamed the Bureau of Engineering Services (BES) and placed under the Ministry of Economic Affairs
1967
BES assumes its present name, BES Engineering Corporation
1993
The corporation goes public on the Taiwan Stock Exchange
1994
BES completes its privatization program in June,freeing itself from state management and entering the market competition
